Until now I have always managed to order parts by engine model, but recently I have been asked for the actual engine and drive model numbers. According to my manual these are marked on the engine block, but for the hell of me I can't find them. I have however found these foil stickers as shown in the photos, are they the engine and drive numbers I need, and is it normal for them just to be foil stickers?

I've not come across engine/drive numbers on anywhere but where your's are ( that's where they were on my 1999 boat), or on the plastic engine cover (which is where they are on my 2004 boat). Graham |

My '97 has the same type stickers, only located on the port side rocker cover. Sounds like they were kind of liberal whith where they put them. |

My '88 had the same thing only the numbers were totally faded out. Document when you have now is my suggestion. |
