Is this the correct tool to do an engine allignment for my 94 OMC Cobra (Which also has Volvo on the engine and all parts I have bought also fit the 94 Volvo SX)

I have an 88 Cobra (the pure OMC one not the joint venture with Volvo one) and the tool for Merc/OMC/Volvo works just fine on it...I think most of the gimble assembly and the gimble bearing itself is the same on the joint venture OMC/Volvos as it was on the pure OMC Cobras (86-93) so that one should work fine....I have one made by Sierra and it cost quite a bit more than that one...I use it to check the alignment each season and when I reinstall the drive in spring it helps to make sure the gimble bearing (which can 'gimble' slightly) is lined up with the coupler and then the driveshaft will slip in more easily....

Excellent! thanks for the info. I am going to start pulling mine and checking it. This year I had a slight vibration and I want to verify the alignment my self. beginning of the season I had someone replace the gimbal bearing and bellows. I haven't found a shop I can really trust here yet, so I take on more maintenance myself every year.
Thanks again!
