Ok, bout my 93 freedom 180 knowing the engine could be questionable, but got a great deal. I cannot get it to fire up, replaced all the gas hoses etc, new vro filter and hoses. It cranks but wont fire, compression cold was 30,90,90,92, so assuming a cylinder is blown. What is the round about pricing to have something like that rebuilt. I know there are alot of factors, just getting an idea. |

I think the Captain was actually trying to help... Most of us here have sterndrives or straight inboards. You are a part of a minority around here when it comes to that particular engine setup... The other Four Winns product that is not represented here is the Fling jet boat. I can't recall anybody ever posting here that owned one. Sounds to me like you have bad cylinder. Did you try pulling the plug and putting some oil in the bad cylinder to see if it fires? Could just be bad rings. |
