Post subject: | First Run of the season |
Hey guys i am looking for a little help. Yesterday we went up to Lake Winnipesaukee in NH for our first run of the season. The boat ran pretty good except a couple of wierd things happened. When i was just putting along then hit it to get up on plane the engine would bog and almost stall. This happened pretty much every time I have the 3.0L VP is there any adjustment i can make on the carb? And also my speedo and tach stopped working for a brief amount of time?? and then resumed normal operation. Any feedback would be much appreciated Thanks |

We had all kinds or problems with the carb on our '09 3.0. They even had a recall on it over the winter. We had a tech adjust the mixture which solved our stalling problem, but your's sounds like it might be the gas. Is it old gas? Did you add a stabilizer over the winter? Just a note.....Volvo puts plugs over the mixture screws so if you do it yourself you'll have to remove the plugs. As far as the speedo and tach.....check the cable to make sure it's not loose. I use star tron year round pretty much every time i fuel up. So i am not sure if it is the gas or not thinking back to last season i remember it bogging down towards the end. I think the mixture screw you are talking about already has the plug out i was thinking of trying to adjust it next time we go out. I am also going to change the plugs. I did have a recall on the carb too but when i brought it to the marina they said mine was fine i forget the reason for the recall though. We'll see what happens next run |
