It was Father's day, it was my son's 13th birthday and he got a new wakebaord. The storms stayed away but the weather forecast had kept people off the lake. All was perfect in life...until!!
Boated an hour, temperature on boat shot up and our day was done. Got towed back to ramp and we were home safe and sound. Wife knew I was pissed so she even mowed the yard. That was nice.
:)
Anyway, back on topic, pulled my impeller pump and the impeller was missing half of each vein on 9 veins. 3 were complete. I have two new ones ordered (one for repair and one for the tool kit).

Where should I start looking for the 9 little half pieces of my impeller?

1995 220 Horizon, 5.8EFI, Motor#: 58FAPHUE

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day, next year I'll be asking for an impeller.

Follow the cooling hoses towards the engine. I'm not sure about the Ford engine but on my Chevy the next place is the thermostat housing.

I've not had to do this before but after that it is engine cooling passages, then manifolds and risers if I remember correctly.

If it's a raw water cooled engine, you need to start with the thermostat/ housing. Depending on the size of the pieces, some may have made their way to the exhaust manifolds. Also, some into the engine cooling channels,

If a couple pieces are unaccountable, is there going to be a major issue?

Probably not; if the thermostat is clear, plus the hoses to the manifolds, if it doesn't overheat now it probably isn't going to. Any potential blockage is going to be quite local.

When you are changing the sterndrive pump out, back flush to the inlet and check the screens just to make sure. You don't want to starve it with a piece that went the other way when you took it apart............If it got hot, it most likely softened the stuff enough and flushed it through. But you better check your therostat to make sure it's clear. You can also take a hose and back flush the engine to get anything out. The climber books show the water flow charts.
