It's been a little while since I've posted cause I thought the sight went away but found you guys again when I was searching this problem. GOOD to be back though! Anyway, here's the deal. We've had the boat out a few times so far this year and it runs like a champ but... once a trip, out on the water, there's a few loud pops that happen in the engine compartment. It's still got last years gas in it (with the stabil) and I've added gas to it a few times before hitting the lake. I think it's the exhaust popping but figured I'd ask here. It's loud pops that are random and don't last very long (maybe 4 or 5) then won't do it the rest of the day. VP 5.0 GXI with SX outdrive. I gave the boat full service, outdrive off, etc... last fall. Could water in fuel cause this? Any help appreciated. |

Sounds like your engine is back firing. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened. It is water in your fuel so change your fuel filters. |
