hi ..a few questions about the oil cooler on my 5.0 gi penta ..first whats the location...second is it a fairly easy replacement ans last roughly how much ..thanks |

Lou, On my 1998 5.0GI/SX funship it's at the back and top of the engine. The reason I know... I had a power steering fluid leak in the engine compartment. I found three plastic clamps that are on the power steering hoses, one at the back of the pump and two on the oil cooler. One of the clamps at the oil cooler had a crack so the hose was leaking. I changed all three of the plastic out to stainless steel clamps and ended the leak. I don't have any idea on the cost of a new oil cooler....hope this helped. Chuck |

thanks for the help..i think my oil cooler is cracked letting oil pass in to the coolong water going out the exhaust |

I don't think there's an engine oil cooler; the unit at the back of the engine is a power steering fluid cooler. Graham |
