1995 240 horizon. 5.8l V8 Ford/OMC EFI. Always starts with 1 turn of the key.

Yesterday I had 1 dead battery, switched to the backup battery, engine would turn but not start. Battery probably wasn't fully charged, but still put a good turn on the engine. Tried a jump pack as well, not go. Turns but doesn't start. Already been out twice this year - no problems.

Anyhow, I bought a new battery, and I'm going to try that, but if it doesn't work, I was wondering if I can use the spray starting fluid (ether) and spray it in the flame arrestor. Somehow that seems wrong, but it's the only air intake I can find. I use starting fluid on my snowmobiles when they are tough, and it works great, but 2 stroke is different than EFI, and wanted to make sure I'm not going to screw something up.

Thoughts?
