Had my power steering pulley explode last weekend and shread my serp belt. Come to find out from local Mercury parts guy there was a bulletin on the plastic pulley Mercury used and now changes to a metal pulley and different belt as the metal pulley is a bigger diameter. Check your pulleys guys if you are running a Merc. V6 or V8. Applies to all engine sizes. If you have a plastic pulley I would get it replaced ASAP. Luckily it happened 200 yards outside the marina we launched at that day and we were with a group of other boats that slip at the marina.

It's a little more difficult to get VP info, but it is there, unless you are REAL lazy.

Here is one example for the 5.7L Gi-A Engine.
http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopenta/na ... earch.aspx

And here is the main search page, type in your engine or serial number to find the publications available for download.
http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopenta/na ... earch.aspx

There are sites for a handful of recall/bulletins, but not as comprehensive as what is avilable for Mercury.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Merc thread......

Just messing with ya. Nothing wrong at all with Volvo. I try to stay Merc if possible to support my local economy and my neighbor (Mercury engineer) gives me crap if my outdrive isn't black!
