Hey all.. Weve been having a great summer with the boat, its been awhile since I have been online. A couple weekends ago my prop hit a tree in the water while we were underway at about 15 mph. It was in a spot we ski, it was more of a fluke rather than mistake. Anyways, I had a replacement prop.. replaced.. was good to go no big problems. I have noticed the hole shot isnt as good as it used to be. The top speed seems to run about the same. The boat is mainly used for skiing and wakeboarding so I need a prop for that. The replacement prop is a 14.5x19. Im not sure what the old prop is, it seems too old to read the label. Any suggestions for best prop for wakeboarding/skiing?

You'll find a ton of opinions in past posts in this section, all of which are very good. I had a 200 with the 5.0 270hp and I went between the 21pitch and 19pitch which you have. For hole shot, you definitely need the 19 over the 21, but you shouldn't have to go any lower for a decent low end. One huge difference I noted was alum vs SS. I had much more thrust with the SS and with the alum you could feel the prop slipping when I floored it. My top end with the 21p was about 55mph and just a little less with the 19p. A lot of the guys on here have had success with the 4 blade props. If you're afraid of the SS, you could go with the 4 blade in alum.

14.5 x 19 is probably about the best prop. From what I've heard a 4 blade is a lot better for hole shot. What is your Max WOT RPM's with the current prop?. When you have that rpm, my advice would be to call a marine outfitter (Iboats, overton's, west marine, ect.) and talk to tech support to find a prop more suited for your use alot of them are really knowledgeable) . Alot of the suppliers have a "program" (might cost a little extra, but not much) where you can buy a prop. and test it for a week, if it isn't correct for your use you exchange it for a different one, until you find one suited for your use.

BTW, I run a 14.5x19 on my boat (220) and for me it is good all around use, imho it's a good compromise (but you do alot more pulling than I do).
