Just a quick tidbit for those who may not know. Most of the smart phones offer a free gps speedometer that can be downloaded on your phone. I put this on my Android phone before our last time out and it was really nice! My speedo on the boat is fine but the speedo phone application was MUCH nicer.

Which kind of phone do you have... Droid, Apple? With the Droid you should have an icon for "applications." You can click on that and do a search for "speedometer." There should be a bunch of freebies show up. I've tinkered with just one and it's a really cool little ap (don't know the name but will post later). Numbers are BIG and easy to read. I'll check out some of the others as well...
btw... speedometer on my phone read out identical to my car when I checked it...

I use the MotionX GPS Lite for my iPhone. Free and pretty good!

The ap I have on my phone is simply called "uhud." It was the first one I tried and works great. But I'll check out the others offered too...
