When I went to look the boat over last night, the Dealer showed me some new changes that Volvo has done to their drive units.

I don't have all the specific information, but I did find some details on Volvo's website. I bet some people already have heard about this, but I found it a nice surprise!

My dealer and I went over the new Volvo drive, and we're both not convinced it's better. The biggest worry is the trim pump mounted out exposed to the elements at all times. Not a great idea for fresh water, very odd idea for salt water boaters.

The other problem with Volvo engine packages is they STILL don't offer the 'easy oil change' option like Mercury does. So simple, why are they leaving that option out??

Volvo shifts better, but Mercury is much easier to live with over the years..............IMO
