Short, short version: I lost my seawater pump while underway last 4th of July weekend. Did not repair the pump until a few weeks ago. Winterized without running the engine and stabilized the fuel I had left in the tank, again, without the ability to run stabilized fuel into the engine.

So, a few questions:

1. If only the fuel in the tank was stabilized is the small amount of untreated fuel going to cause me to not be able to start her up when I head to the lake tonight for the holiday weekend?

2. If the answer to question #1 is Yes or Maybe, how do I go about dumping the fuel out of the filter? I've read several posts about people saying they removed their filter, dumped it, and filled it with fresh gas (or did something similar when installing a new filter). How difficult is it to do? can I do this in a few minutes' time and be good to go?

My guess is that you'll be fine....You may run a little rough until you burn through the fuel in your filter.
Is your boat not accessible to start up this morning, or is it up at the lake?

No, it is at the lake 100+ miles away. Heading out there this afternoon, hoping to launch this evening and get it slipped and ready to roll for tomorrow morning.

If it was my boat, I think I would just proceed to start it as is.

Mike.

Of course there's no guarantee, but I too suspect that you'll be just fine without doing anything to it.

Thanks guys. One of those last-minute things that popped in my head at like 6AM this morning as I was making the mental list of stuff for the weekend.

Everyone have a safe and non-flood stricken weekend!

Start it and run it. Maybe a bottle or two of fuel injection cleaner, but you should b e good to go!
