I bought a 1985 4WINNS 26.5 ft Qwest. I know I need to change the prop because the RPMs are only 3200 at full throttel. But I cant read the markings on the prop that is on it. Any body know what pitch prop I need ? The Motor is a 260 hp. |

If that's a single 350 engine on a 26 ft boat I'm thinking you need to use a very low pitch prop to get it to perform well. Go to a shop that re-does props, I bet they could suggest a good pitch for you. Make sure that other causes of low engine rpm are ruled out, such as fuel system restrictions (anti siphon valve, fuel filters, tank vent, etc) and ignition faults (bad points/condenser, mechanical advance not advancing properly). |

Thanks, I think I need to go with a lower pitch on the prop as well ... just thought hopefuly somebody might have a boat like mine and could tell me what they were using. |
