I used to always grease the steering ram of our Vista, but totally forgot on the Sundowner. ![]() Wondering what people use, and how often you grease your steering ram? |

I was told that the steering arm on my h220SS was sealed and lubricated internally and that trying to grease the arm was not a good idea. Now I am worried I have been given some bad advice. Calling FW on Monday thanks for your post. |

I've done mine every year, I grease the grease zerk on the actuator and grease the piston rod with OMC triple guard grease. Steering is very smooth, like the no-feel power steering on old school Chryslers.... |

Just make sure you grease up the ram, you don't want it corroding in the salt air...I don't know if the actuators on the modern Volvos have a grease fitting, but my old OMC Cobra does. Use the OMC/Bombardier triple guard grease (get it at Evinrude dealers) best water proof grease ever, stands up to salt water and anything else.... |
