today i noticed my block plug leaking while on the water. should i just buy another one and consider it fixed being that i dont know how old the current on is?

If I remember correctly, the 3.0 freeze plugs are very easy to replace. Make sure you get the marine (brass?) ones.

I had a 3.0 in my first boat... great little motor. I rode that boat hard and put it away wet and that 3.0 never skipped a beat.

It's the one in the side of the block. Rubber with a twist knob

I would replace it and call it fixed (but then I would still look next time on the water to make sure it was really fixed).
