I installed 2 out of 3 batteries and cleaned battery cables. Hooked the hot water heater back up, it was by-passed for the winter. Added a sea stainer for the head and what a bear that hose is to slide over the barb connector. What ever type of 3/4" hose FW use, it will not give at all. Put the trailer back down on the ground. Well, still more to do later! |

I brought mine home today and decided to remove the drive and replace the gimbal bearing. Easy enough ![]() ![]() |

I wanted to check the alignment again after last season when I put the new engine in. The guy's I had help me said to eyeball it I said no and bought an alignment tool and changed the bearing. We had never used the tool so we had no clue of what to do and after watching the abuse that took place on the new bearing it had me concerned so I let it go until this year. So for piece of mind I changed the bearing again and took my time about three hours until the tool slid in and out with no effort involved. That is why it was out of alignment ![]() |

Engine alignment changes as boats get older, strings swell or shrink or start to rot, bolts loosen up...etc. However, on many of occasions I have seen someone think that the engine was out of alignment and it was nothing but the gimbal bearing...for those that do not know the center section of a gimbal bearing actually swivels a bit and that needs to be aligned with the engine upon installation of a new one. |
