I am wanting to install a hydrofoil on my 2006 Alpha 1 Gen2 leg. The question is, the hydrofoil is off a 1986 Alpha 1 leg, are the legs the same as far as where the hydrofoil sits?
Its an accessory bolted to the leg to improve lift and get it on the plane quickers.

Use trim tabs, they work better.

Are they hydraulic activated?

There are 3 types hydraulic, electric & and smart tabs. On a smaller boat like your, the smart tabs do work. BUT you have no control over them.

Thanks I will look into it. Mean time I may get the aluminium Laser Foil from Solas Propellors here in Oz. Cheaper option for now. They do work well when I had them on a Yamaha F60

I ended up getting this stainless steel one from Queensland in Australia. Its made from SOLAS in Oz. Has flutes cut in the top. I painted it black to suit the Mercruiser leg.

I have had these before on all my boats. Get on the plane quicker and improves turning. No safety problems.

$120 delivered. Strong too!!
