I am wanting to install a hydrofoil on my 2006 Alpha 1 Gen2 leg. The question is, the hydrofoil is off a 1986 Alpha 1 leg, are the legs the same as far as where the hydrofoil sits? Its an accessory bolted to the leg to improve lift and get it on the plane quickers. ![]() |

Use trim tabs, they work better. |

There are 3 types hydraulic, electric & and smart tabs. On a smaller boat like your, the smart tabs do work. BUT you have no control over them. http://www.nauticusinc.com/ |

They do work well when I had them on a Yamaha F60 |

I ended up getting this stainless steel one from Queensland in Australia. Its made from SOLAS in Oz. Has flutes cut in the top. I painted it black to suit the Mercruiser leg. I have had these before on all my boats. Get on the plane quicker and improves turning. No safety problems. $120 delivered. Strong too!! ![]() ![]() Its called a Laser Foil. Better than the one in first thread... |
