I want to switch to an aluminum prop from the stainless that came on it. What size prop should I get. Stainless is 14 1/4, 21 pitch. 1995 190 horizon, 5.0 Fuel injected, OMC/Volvo drive Boat is not used for much skiing at this time only cruising around with the kids. |

I am docking the boat and would like to switch to an aluminum prop to help prevent corrosion. |

If you're worried about electrolysis, I'm not sure I'd switch for that reason....seems to me that your anodes and then your outdrive are more likely to be affected. In my original question, I was actually wondering if your SS prop gave you the top speed and got you up on plane to your satisfaction. If so, I would probably get a matching aluminum prop. It won't be quite the same, but likely close enough... |

I have the same boat with a Stiletto Stainless 14 1/4 x 21 prop and the original aluminum prop of the same size. I can not tell any difference in performance. The particular brand of prop may make more difference than just the size. |

Performance is perfect for the boat just looking to keep the electrolysis down. My drive is spotless right now, never been docked before. I only want to buy 1 prop so I may just get the same size in aluminum like you suggested. thx |
