Is there such thing as an engine oil extractor that has a hose that permanently attaches to the crankcase drain so you can just grab the hose from the engine compartment and hook up the extractor and pull the oil from the bottom and effectively draining more contaminants? I don't have the drain hose attached and thought something like this would be better than hooking it up to the dipstick tube but have searched the net for one and can't find anything...

You could make it for under $20. Put a male garden hose fitting on the other end so it fits all standard oil pumps.

Mine came with the same factory. I don't use it anymore as the diameter is so small that it quite literally takes an hour to drain the oil. Instead I use the same hand pump that attaches to the dip-stick hole as I used on my last boat. Takes <5 min to drain the oil this way, even cold! After doing such, I tried and really couldn't get anymore oil out via the drain. I think the bottom of the dipstick tube is far enough down to draw up most contaminants, and nearly all the oil. If anything is left in the bottom, it's pumped through the filter anyhow.

As long as you have the garden hose threads on the dipstick tube end, and get a pump that has a hose that will fit that, you will get most of the oil out. Trying to get to that drain plug on some boats is nearly impossible. Just warm up the engine on the water hose before changing the oil.

+1 That is the way I change the oil and it's so easy! The only part about the whole oil change that I dread is when I have the oil extracted the pump is sitting on top of the container and it doesn't attach so if you grab the handle it can twist on you and spill all the oil right on the floor. Don't ask me how I found this out!
