I hit a rock. took chunks out of 2 blades. Aluminum prop. wont go back in gear...i am absolutely new to this kind of issue and i dont know anyone of my friends who had the same problem. like to check if the shaft is broken or perhaps just the pin. it was an on and off hit due to waves--hit twice as far as i can remember. i have a horizon 190 1986. i appreciate any comments or suggestions on how to check for the damage. i am able to use tools and get dirty myself..;)
thanks in advance

Don't invest too much into it, on a drive that old you can probably find a good one still attached to a boat on a trailer for a few hundred.

If you have insurance it'll cover things like that. It happens, I ran over a piece of wood the 2nd time I had this boat out 10 years ago and bent up an alu prop pretty well. I checked the prop shaft and it was fine, put a new prop on and went on my merry way. Still running the same drive 10 years later.
Do you have an OMC or Merc? Hopefully Merc as the parts are much easier to find.
