Good day all. Had the misfortune of a bearing going bad on rear axle, left side. We were going slow and got off the road right away but it did tear up the spindle a bit. Thank goodness we were not on the interstate. We did have bearings packed at the beginning of summer 2021 and keep them greased so a little frustrated it let go - also know they get a lot of stress on them getting in and out of some of the tight ramps and parking spots we are required to use.

It was recommended that we get a new axle as they didn't think they could get the spindle cleaned up good enough (we tow every time we use the boat) to be reliable going forward. I have contacted 3 different Four Winns dealers and provided all the info including VIN. I have yet to have a single one call me back. One did warn me he didn't think anything was available from Four Winns. So I am hoping you can help.

On the manufacturing tag with the VIN - it says Fabrique Par for Four Winn’s.

Can anyone help me out with sourcing parts? We are also looking at just buying a new trailer but like the trailer matching the boat and has served us really well.

Thanks in advance - appreciate any ideas, thoughts and suggestions.

you will have to measure the axle, get the hub face to hub face dimension and the spring center to spring center dimension. I had Champion make me 2 custom axles, they did excellent work. I currently have a 2x3 galvanized drop axle 6000 lbs capacity on my single axle trailer for my H-200.

the other thing you might ask F/W is who made the axles, or who did they buy them from.

I would try a local-to-you trailer shop. Doesn't have to be a boat-specific place.
Most trailer places here in Texas can cover/work on just about any trailer.

I lost a bearing on a trip down to the coast a few years back (almost 200 miles from home - return trip) and we were very lucky we noticed it while sitting at a gas station - we had already traveled 26 miles! The closest trailer shop was 18 miles away and they were able to rebuild our hub (spindle was ok, luckily) without any problems. I've since replaced the other hub with new parts from a local trailer place here in San Antonio. The only thing they asked was if I knew the axle capacity. (Btw - I have a 5000 lb single axle with 6-lug hubs w/ 12" surge brakes - not your typical trailer axle by any means)

If you can get the trailer to a local shop, they can probably take care of everything for you right there. Even with the boat on the trailer, since you're not that heavy.

A really good shop can remove the old spindle and replace it, if the rest of the axle is in good shape.
