Great.
I'll up them to 65 and see what happens. If they fail as early as the Carlisles, I'm switching to wooden wagon wheels.

We've always blocked the trailer every winter. The old Silverline had Carlisle tires on her and lasted over 10 years. Towed to and from the cottage regularly. Had the Fourwinns now for 2 and 1/2 years and block her over the winter as well. So far so good with the Carlisle tires. No bumps or odd wear yet. Will wait and see what happens with these I guess. |

I've always blocked ours....was told it helps the springs as well as the tires......... I still have gone ahead and replaced the tires anyway after two years, for safety's sake, original Carlisle's or not. |

I've had good luck with the Load Star tires that I put on my Load Rite about 5 years ago...but I don't trailer much at all (moored boat). No cracks or bulges....I know that both Load Rite and Venture use these tires as OE on their trailers. |

I just have regular "Costco" car tires on my trailer. They've been on it for about 7 or 8 years..... |

Very timely subject, after almost 10 years one of my 248 Vista trailer tires had a failure. This past Friday after loading the boat on the trailer I noticed the right rear tire was flat. The Four Winns trailer came from the factory with Carlisle tires. I was hoping to do a replacement next year however this was a warning to do it ASAP. Since I have had no problems with the Carlisle tires I decided to replace them with with Carlisles. |

This can be from weight overloading, or turning a tandum axle trailer to much causing the tire side walls to fold over (flex) tearing the cords. I am willing to bet this is the cause of most carcas failures. It has been the case for most of mine. |

I just replaced my Carlisles with Marathons because the Carlisles were completely screwed. I've never seen cupping and irregular wear like that before. They were fine when I last looked at them in May, and now I just noticed that they were junk, so I ordered some Marathons from TireRack. Not sure what happened, but I won't be using Carlisles again. Now, with the Marathons, what should I be running in them for pressure? The sticker on the trailer says 65 psi, and the max pressue on the tire is also 65. Should I be running them at the max? I don't want to have wear problems again. It is a H200 and it's a single axle trailer. Thanks. |

Really? See, I was thinking that max pressure would be used when max load was on top of them... Seems logical to me.... That said, I did a few miles on them with 50 psi in them, and they sure looked soft and springy in my mirrors! |

Soft and spongy = heat, heat = tread separation and or carcase damage which will ultimately end up with failure. Good luck with the marathons, my last few sets I have had worse luck than with carlisles. |

I hear ya. I am sick of trailer tires!!!!! They all suck. Cost too much and don't last. Seems like I am always at tire shop for one of our vehicles or trailers. |

How bad was the damage? I haven't had any problems with either set of Carlislie's I've had on two different FW trailers. Trying to decide if I want to replace this set now, and if so, with what. |

The scary thing is that I could barely feel a vibration in the truck going down the I-10 at 70mph. Glad I pulled over to have a look.  For me I think the extreme heat here has a lot to do with the tire de-treading. I tow 90 miles to the river in 110+ heat........I replaced both tires with Milestar 5-ply radials. Interestingly, the Carlislie's and Milestars are the same size, yet the Milestar profile is noticeably taller.....
