The tires on my trailer are all radial tires... the replacement I was going with is radial Trailer King Tires... $80 per tire.

I'll chime in on replacing tires with a few birthdays. I bought my boat when it was 9 years old. The tires were original. During the 300 mile trip home, the first tire blew within the first 20 miles. After the tire change we reduced speed to 50 mph. The second tire blew less than 100 miles later. We made it home, but a third tire had a large bulge. If you are using tires that are 8 or 10 years old, you may be on borrowed time.

Yup, thats about how old the tire in the original post was.
I replaced all with Carlisle Radial trail RH. So far so good. But I only trailer 12 miles a year. :)

If you want radials that will hold up for higher speed towing and are willing to pay the price...
Made in France or Germany BTW so they are expensive, but no doubt much better than most tires you can get here because they are for European commercial vans:

In the 225/70-15 size they are rated at 2470 lbs @ 65 psi.
R Speed rated=106 mph. Much much better than tires rated for 65 mph!
Its really an insult that the Goodyear Marathon trailer tire is so inferior to what you can get in Europe.

I also went from load range D to E tires. The trailer tracks much better and I have had no problems with uneven tire wear.

Bought new Boat/Trailer 8yrs ago original Carlisle Sport. Have serious cupping. I did balance them a couple yrs ago. But I knew I would need new ones. Brought it home from storage barn today & the sidewalls have serious dry splits. Ordered these just now "Carlisle Radial Trail RH ST225/75R15 E/10PR BSW" $166.++ 1-2 day UPS ground shipping. Now need to clean it up for the season & HOPE we have a boating season cause here in E Pa. the weather has SUCKED it's like March 55f Rainy all the time!!!Been laid off since 3/1 & barely got to ride the bike either :cry: Have to cut grass every 3 days IF I can!

Those seemed to be much improved over the old carlisle tires plus one of the few to offer load range E in that size. At 67.00 a tire and free shipping Im tempted to give them a try https://www.treaddepot.com/#!productDetail/tireStandardFitment/5151411

W/shipping they would've been 163.98 from your vendor. The ones I received were mfg in April.
