Question...I have a new 2006 220-H with a new painted trailer. I've noticed what I think to be excessive squeak / creaking coming from the trailer while towing.

I've not been able to isolate the location of where the noise is coming from. All I know is it's pronounced while towing. Can someone advise where to look, and what to look for...or if it's normal to hear constant squeak / creaking coming from the trailer?

In the order asked:

1) It's the leaf springs & bushings
2) It's completely normal. Annoying, yes, and this is one of the advantages to torsion axle trailers. But most boat trailers use leaf springs and they squeak like crazy.

One guy said every time he gets a new boat the first thing he does is dismantle the trailer, take the spring assemblies apart, coat each leaf in heavy grease, and put it back together. I suppose that would fix the squeak, but that's just a *bit* more work than most of us are willing to go to. Some folks hose their springs down with WD40 all the time, and claim in helps a lot. I don't like the idea of putting that into my local lakes, especially when it's not a permanent fix.

Exactly. My brand new FW trailer squeaked quite a bit from the leaf springs.
