...and I have LED's, but not the buckles. Mine was "born" in May of '07. Musta been later. I'm not sold on the BB's myself. Something that could easily get damaged when (not if) I forget to remove them.

That's strange how they've been inconsistent with those accessories. Well, I can't speak highly enough of the LED's. If I'd known how much of an improvement they were for the amount of work involved I'd have done it a year sooner.

On the BB's, I've looked up close at the mechanism and they're pretty solid. The reservations I have about them are 1) drilling the trailer, and 2) mildew damage in the wet, rolled-up webbing. But they say this isn't a problem and people seem to love them, so...

I heard they have also moved to oil bath hubs. That would have been nice as well.

OK Joe, I fell for it when everyone told me it was "International Talk Like a Pirate Day," so I'm being cautious here - you ARE kidding, right?

That is today, right Mike? If not, I'll have done it on two separate days when the real one finally rolls around.

Arrgh. Now ye got me thinkin'. I'm not sure if I have bearing-buddies or the oil bath. I think the Oil bath is standard now, but I prefer the grease style. From a maint perspective, they hold up under load better, and are less prone to getting contaminated from the environment. Even though the oil flows better, it can also leak, or be contaminated if neglected. And if ye neglects thee bearings, he'll be keel-hauled for sure! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Wow. My gut tells me I don't like them, but I guess if the jury is to ever come to a conclusion about oil bath they're going to have to see some widespread use and supported by a mainstream manufacturer. I'll be glad to sit back and watch others be the guinea pigs :? .

One day I'll let you know. Our 08 arrives in a few weeks. Can't wait.
