Four Winns Fast Facts numbers for my '02 268 are a little over 6300lb dry (5.7 GI). Add for other options. The FW tandem trailer is 1800lb (+ spare?). 85 gallons of gas is approx 520lb. 20 gallons of water is almost 170lb. At this point I am real close to 9000lb. Add anchors, generator, a/c, TV, computer bag, dinghy and motor, tools, tackle box, and all the misc necessities like groceries, cooler, beer, and other water toys. At this point I'm past 9500 and looking at 10000. Almost afraid to pull it over a scale...... What ever you do, make sure the tires and bearings are up to the task. I blew two trailer tires in the first 150 miles on the way home after buying my boat. The tires were about 9 years old. One of the other tires had a bulge.

If I remember right, my 04 268 with Kohler generator, full fuel and water sitting on a Four Winns trailer was around 9500lbs.

I believe that your 8780 lbs does not include the tongue weight... so you actual tow weight is actually hundreds of pounds more than that. Like 9200 lbs?

I'm confused about the comment "you have to add the tongue weight".
Is it added if you have just the boat/trailer on the scale, and the trailer is attached to the truck/hitch :?:

Numbers are not off. Do not delete.. Tongue weight would find is place between the trailer weight and the truck weight. Your overall numbers are fine, and very informative to me.. I keep meaning to do this with mine, but have not done it yet with the new setup.. May do that (again, if I remember) on the way to our trip to the Ozarks this year.. It does show you what your trailer is carrying weight wise on it's axles.. All good information.. Your numbers are the numbers needed for permitting in certain states that want a per axle weight info..

Yes.

The weight carried by the trailer axels is the total boat/trailer weight, minus the amount carried by the hitch (tongue weight).

Therefore, to get the total boat/trailer weight... you would add the amount measured on the scale for the trailer axels, plus the tongue weight.

Little late to the party. I've been busy getting the boat ready to launch. Here are the numbers I have on my boat. That's towing my boat with my 04 Chevy Avalanche.

Boat and Truck 16540
Boat 9680
Truck 6860

Along those lines I signed up with BoatU.S. for my insurance at your suggestion. Did you get the 2014 guide to trailering? The have all of the tow ratings in the magazine for 2014.
