mine is below and i also added a turn Buckle Instead of a safety chain. The turn buckle is more secure and ridged than a chain preventing any bounce.

Depends on the trailer design but with the Four Winns trailer I thing they are normally below, mine is anyway. |

If the Bow Eye is above the roller, then it cannot stop the boat from moving forward if you have to hit the brakes hard. It is also a good idea to have a safety chain from the Bow Eye down to the trailer (there is a tie down loop on the trailer for this purpose) |

I do similar to Jdpber but use a separate ratchet strap vs. a turn buckle or chain. |

turn buckle is rated at 10k or something over strong for the application. and the BEST part is that it stays attached to the trailer and cannot grow legs or fall off on the boat ramp. |

I like this idea as I just have a BoatBuckle strap right now. I assume you have the eye on the bottom and a hook on the top? What is you have the eye hooked to that's connected to the trailer? |

My 2014 came with a ratchet strap that went down to the hole in the brace. |
