Good evening everyone. On the Actuator portion of the tongue of my trailer, there appear to be two grease zerks. Can anyone tell me what these are for and how to check the current level or tell when to stop filling them? I am new to having a trailer with brakes, and I appreciate any knowledge you all can share.

Thanks!

Jamie

If you mean the ones on the side of the tongue, those are for the rollers on which your actuator rides as it moves in and out. They don't need a lot of grease - 3-4 pumps each once a year is plenty unless you become aware of some problem with your actuator.

Yes, those are the ones I'm referring to. How do I tell when they are full? I don't want to break any seals.

There's nothing to "get full" The grease goes in the shaft and exist through a weep hole to lube the outer rollers. If you keep pumping, it will just start dripping out on the ground.

Like my Tie Down model 66, the excess grease will just ooze out by the bushings for the rollers...part # 5 in that pic....
