That's one hell of a truck/boat combo!

Will be doing 1050 km round trip in a few months. Just got the boat a few weeks ago and been busy getting the trailer up to speed. Have changed the trailer springs, fish plates and u bolts, all brake calipers, just need get a new tyre for the spare rim and sort out a leaking turbo lube and I’m done. Also fitted a hub to the spare and bolted it to a stub axle, gives me peace of mind if I do a bearing as its becomes a quick 15minute wheel change and we’re off again.

Tow vehicle is Ford Ranger 4x4 3.2l 5 cyl, tows the H210 with ease and averages about 14.5Lper100km. It’s a heavy beast with the canopy, and bar work and my tools but does job well.

Bliss36....i have to ask...what mpg do you get pulling Noahs Ark? I get about 7 to 8 with my truck pulling the h210 and I live in garlands.

I'm addume you have the 5.7 in the Tundra which what I have in the Ram.

Towing we usually get right around 8mpg on the northern trips, and usually a point higher for trip on flat lands with lower speed limits. The hour before we reach Mackinaw Bridge is very hilly so I usually watch my average drop there, also Michigan has high speed limits so that kills the average too. Normal daily driving I average 16-17mpg combined average.

Something interesting about the 3 Tundras Ive had is the 2007 got the best mileage, and they have all had identical drivetrain/gear ratios. The only difference was the 2007 was not a Flex Fuel vehicle and the other 2 are setup to burn ethanol. The same trip to northern Michigan I could average well into the 9s and 18+mpg normal driving. The frustrating part is I have never and would never burn ethanol (E85)in any of my trucks but still see the decrease in mpg probably due to the often inaccurate fuel density sensors and larger injectors needed to make up the inefficiencies of burning ethanol

Once a year we make a 900 mile round trip to Dale Hollow Lake, TN. Taken both our old 1993 Horizon 190 single axle, and our 2008 H200 tandem behind a 2014 F150 Screw 3.5L Ecoboost and 2016 F150 Screw 3.5L Ecoboost. Typical haul for us on the weekends is 130 mile round trip to NE Indiana lakes.

We have been trying to make it to Dale Hollow the last couple seasons and keep missing it. This year we planned a trip in late October with Hutch9900 but the weather was nasty so we had to cancel again. Dale Hollow is a 830mi round trip tow for us, we are hoping to start our 2019 season off with a trip down there!

What lakes do you boat on in NE Indiana ? Wawasee?

That’s amazing.

How wide is that setup? Do you need oversize load tags?

Like Surface Interval we are at 8' 6" beam and haven't run into anywhere we couldn't tow yet! I do sometimes wish we didn't have the radar arch because we do catch small tree branches occasionally, but height isn't an issue otherwise. I have to say that Surface Interval is part of our inspiration for trying out towing exclusively this next season, he has been doing it for years and seems to really have it dialed in! I just need to figure out our dinghy situation...but thats a post for another thread :D

We have been to Dale hollow for the past 8 years with friends as their families have been going since the early 1960s, and typically stay on their house boat at Willow Grove Marina. Our kids would rather spend a week on Dale Hollow then a week on the beach in Florida lol. We typically go in late July when water temps can be as warm as the low to mid 90's. We have been frequenting Clear Lake just outside Fremont for the last 5 years, but I think we are going to plan a weekend at Wawasee this year staying at the hotel on the water.
