I use the old fashioned hub and tire temp test....i just touch them when I stop....you should be able to keep hand on them. I have the infrared therm but my hands are always...handy

I also grab top of tire and pull push to see if any side to side slack.....if so then there's bearing issue.

It guys like us who spend time on the boards, maintaining equipment, checking everything we can think of, that end up with some strange anomaly failure no one ever dreamed of....
