I got a Sherline tongue weight scale and was playing around with it, I figured out a way to weigh the boat at all 3 corners (tongue and each side of the single axle trailer). Now FW's estimate for this boat was approx 2600 lbs and the trailer, about 800, that puts you at approx 3400 lbs right?
Well what I got:
Tongue weight 400 lbs
weight on axle, 4650 lbs
total, 5050 lbs. That's with a 1/4 tank of gas. I upgraded the axle to a 6000 lb unit with 6 lug hubs, 15" Load range D tires and 12" brakes. Before it was way overloaded, we just did not know it. No wonder why our old '98 Grand Cherokee (rated at 5000 lbs) struggled with it. The '07 Grand (5.7 V8) pulls it with no problems (rated at 7200 lbs).

Good advice, LouC!
I've been meaning to run mine by a weigh station just to see what the actual weight is.
