Just picked up a set, a little nervous about drilling into the trailer.

Should I be worried? Should I go through both sides of the rail with the drill? Should I take them back?

The bow buckle will be a piece of cake. Just a little apprehensive with drilling the rear with all that weight on the trailer. Put a jack under? any input will be appreciated. Wish this had spell check.... only thoing I dislike about phpbb (I run about 6 forums)

jvalich???? input?

I think the biggest issue will be that it'll create a new place to rust. Maybe paint around the holes or slather some silicone in there before bolting them on. I've thought about getting them myself but the rust issue has kept me from doing it (the cost doesn't help either).

Try the new Firefox Beta... it has a built-in spell check.

Since I am on a company computer, everything is locked down. Now at home it's a different story. I run several phpbb forums. phpbb is a great community software package, hopefully 3.0 will be a better version and include spell check, we will see.

Now to the boat buckle issue, I think I am taking them back. Looks like I would be pushing the 30 degree limit specifed in the instructions. Not to mention I hate drilling more holes in teh trailer. Going to measure on friday and see if I can figure it out.

I just added them and they are worth every penny if you ask me. it literally takes me less than 10 seconds to unhook and just that long to re-attach. I spent some time contemplating the location because of my speedo tube and trim tabs but they fit between almost just perfect. after drilling i used primer and touch up paint on the holes. got the big ones for $59 at a local marine store.

Fortunately no. from forward to rear they go straight up. from port to starboard they angle out just a hair. I will try to remember to post some pics later tonight. One thing, the bolts that came with them weren't long enough to go all the way through. Had to buy longer stainless steel bolts and washers.

Thanks so much, I don't have a straight shot, looks like a 20 degree back, but have not measured. again thanks for the pics.

You are too kind

I've had them for a couple years, love them. Like Cincy said it is less than 10 seconds at the ramp to take care of them. I also primed after I drilled, used silicone seal liberally on the hole and the bolt so no rust would get anywhere and no water could get into the frame.
