Both West Marine and Boaters World sell the kits. I found the one at Boaters World to be a little better quality and cheaper, than West Maine. While working at West Marine, we hade several sets come back, so I was even happier I got mine at Boaters World. The 2006 catalog shows they run between $59.99 and 69.99 depending on the style. I got the submersible set for my FW trailer.

Hope this helps.

Note, some of the LED sets are 2 wire, some are 3 wire. You might want to check and see what your original ones are before buying.

I beleive the 2 wire are internally grounded through the trailer frame and the 3 wire have their own ground wire. Other than that, there should be no difference. I would prefer the 3 wire in a wet environment.

I use the bell jar style ones, and the way I make em last is to smear OMC Triple Guard or Pennzoil Marine grease on the contacts, and bulb bases. I do unplug since I am in salt water. The lights and housings actually last pretty long using the grease. I have drum brakes so unplugging is a non issue. BTW, even though lots of people say they don't last in salt, if you pack the area under the rubber boot in the wheel cylinder with grease, grease up the adjuster threads, and spray the backing plate with Boeshield, they do last a reasonable length of time. I feel that disc brakes, while they are easier to service, are still prone to sticking of the calipers and dragging brakes.

Just bought a new 2006 VISTA 288 with a CONTINENTAL trailer with triple axles and triple disc brakes.Brakes was "on" all the time when I tried to back up,dealer replaced the solenoid = no change.

Continental send a technician to my house,
He find out that the solenoid was not getting is ground thru the actuator box, adding a ground wire from the solenoid to trailer fixed the problem.

Hey. I had that problem the first time I tried to back the boat into my driveway. Damn frustrating. Problem is that I had a 4-way flat connector intead of the 5 pin one. I have used the lockout pin a few times, but it is a real hassle. On the 2008 and newer trailers, the LED lights on the trailer are submersible. I don't unplug anything anymore, and I haven't had one problem since. The surge brake connector works as it should so far, thanks to me actually using the right wiring connector. I also keep all the connections coated in dielectric grease.
