My boat came on with a winch strap at the bow (of course). I was reading my owner's manual and it states that the winch strap is not sufficient and the boat/trailer also came with a bow strap the connects from the bow eye straight down to the trailer. I never got this strap, and in saying that I've never seen anyone with a bow strap either. Should I have received a bow strap? Is it necessary? |

If you bought it from a dealer I would go back today and get a free one for your bow. Do you have the other 2 straps for your transom? You sure do need them to have your boat strapped down tight in case of a crash or sudden stop/turn. |

For your size boat...definitely a bow strap. I don't use on on the 288 Vista but do on the 170. If the 288 wants to come off the trailer, ain't much gonna stop it ![]() |
