I have used carlise, goodyear, maxis, tow master, and a couple other brand on our trailers over the years. The all have there issues, no brand is really better than another.

Currently on our 248 vista trailer I am running carlise load range E, 10 ply. Put them on aug 07. We tow 300 miles one way to lake powell, tow the jet skis behind the boat. Knock on wood, so far, doing good.

I have had good luck with a set of goodyear marathons and have had them last 50 miles!!!

They are all a gamble. But buying the heaviest tire/weight rating and inflating to the proper psi will help the odds greatly.
