this weekend i am reinstalling my brake calipers after getting them overhauled. before i look too deep into it, are there any tricks as to bleeding the brakes. Can you get enough pressure on the tongue by pushing it by hand, or do i need to car ? can i just gravity bleed them over time ? cheers scott - now with brakes |

You can actuate them with a long screwdriver. Have a helper pump it while you work the bleeder screws on the calipers. |

I use a 4' long 2X4, and wrap the safety chain around the bottom, this way one of the kids can actuate while I am under trailer at each caliper. |

Hey Scott, how did you go with the bleeding? I used the screwdriver method as per Mike 230. Biggest problem I found was the bleeder valves were clogged (saltwater corrosion) and I had to remove and poke through each one of them... |

i'm yet to do it as i had to replace one of the brass fittings that connect the brake line to the caliper. all ready to go for whenever this rain stops. everything else has been cleaned and replaced, so nothing "should" be clogged... where do u stick the screw driver ? i havent really looked at that end of the business yet - will it be obvious when i do ? |
