Post subject:  Cruiser Roller or Bunk trailer?

A guy at work just bought a 2002 Wellcraft 2600 with no trailer. So he picked up a used roller trailer for it pretty cheap, but all the rollers need to be replaced. He will only be using the trailer to get it from Minnesota where he bought it to east side of Wisconsin and putting it its slip in spring. After that the trailer will only be used to pull the boat for winter and stored on it. Just curious what you guys think of storing a cruiser on a roller trailer. Another guy at work mentioned converting the trailer to a bunk? Any adverse affects to storing it on a roller trailer?

It would be cheaper to convert it to a bunk than to replace all the rollers...I have a roller and added 8 more to the rear of it and it wasn't cheap...but here we have tidal changes of 7 feet from high to low tide...unless you have a steep ramp...you will have a hard time pulling out a boat at low tide so roller trailers are popular here. If he is going to be winching that boat out himself again a roller may be easier...but cost wise and to only use it a couple of times a year the bunk conversion makes sense...
