Post subject:  Spare suggestions?

I have the basic, painted, single axle, steel wheel, FW trailer for my H200. I currently do not have a spare and would like to get one added soon.
Any suggestions? I haven't really began to seach. The closest FW dealer is about 2 hours away.

Thanks

I'm in the same "boat" as you, a long way to a dealer. I just got one from iboats.com. Go to their website and search "R-6614". FYI, it's galvanized instead of painted, but I think that's better.

I am trying to figure out how I can get four of them up to Canada cheaply.

When I had a blow out last year with no spare that's the first thing I looked for on my single axle trailer. As the wheels are 6-lugs, I had a difficult time finding a mount that fit as the "standard" seems to be 4 and 5 lug. Eastern Marine has a nice one and worked great on my H200 trailer. Positioning is something you will have to play with. There aren't many places that work well. As for the wheel itself, I got a painted one from my local tire shop and had them mount a tire to it. That was the easy part.

If I remember correctly, I had a local tire store get me the galvanized rim and tire....Discount Tire.

West Marine usually has a selection also.

On my single axle trailer, I wasn't able to mount the tire that far forward, because it would rub the boat. I had to mount it where the trailer bends directly under the windshield. Perhaps they have mounts that can push out the wheel a bit more?

Northern Tool sells spares and mounts, too.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I especially appreciate the picture of the spare mount. I was/am concerned about mounting. There doesn't seem to be very much room for a spare. After looking at some of the places you guys suggested, I'm considering upgrading to 2 aluminum wheels w/ tires and then having 2 spares!! (If I could only just be satisfied with just owning a boat, I didn't realize I would always be wanting to buy something more)

Sorry I didn't realize this was a bias ply tire. You would have to buy two because you can't mix the two types.
But if you're considering aluminum rims and new tires then all this is a mute point.

I have a PA less than five minutes from my work and I go there regularly but they don't have a spare to match the ones on our trailers. We need a 225/75R15 tire Load range D with a 6 on 5 1/2" bolt center. They seem to only have tires and rims for the 2000 & 3500 lbs axles which are either 4 bolt or 5 on 4 1/2. They do sell the heavier 8 bolt tire and rim combo ($229 +13% tax) I just don't see them having a tire & rim package as cheap as the above although it is a bias ply.
