I'm in the process of preparing to re-pack the bearings on my trailer.... I'm planning on using some standard wheel bearing grease. Question is ......... Should I buy another grease gun and pack it with this same grease so that I don't cross contaminate the grease if I use my standard gun? Can I use standard Heavy duty service grease for this application? |

I use marine/waterproof (more expensive of course) grease. I also have a separate grease gun just for the boat trailers. Andrew |

I standardized on Mobil 1 Synthetic partially so I could use one gun for everything. If I was going to use a standard wheel bearing grease for boat trailer hubs I'd use a marine grease, available at WalMart, and I'd put it in a separate gun just to be safe. |

+1 with Andrew. Definately go with marine grease for your wheel bearings. I have a dedicated grease gun for doing this. |

Thanks guys. I will do some digging on what is easily available here and either make a change or buy another grease gun. |

I use the Pennzoil Marine grease for everything...the trailer wheel bearings...gimble bearing...and the front end grease fittings (there are 7 of em!) on my old 98 Jeep... |
