I plan on replacing my drum brakes with new discs. Does anyone know what size to discs to order? 258 Vista 6 bolt 15in wheels. Plan on getting Kodiak brakes.

I would use the 12" ones. If you have a FW trailer, you may be able to get the slip on rotors and use your won bearing hubs from the drum application. Check the Kodiak website and you can download their catalog. You need the applicaitons for a 5200-6000 lb axle.

Be sure to use a solenoid for lock out the brakes when in reverse, and you will need to modify the existing master cylinder to remove back pressure, or replace it with one made for a disk system.

I have done this on severl trailers. If you have worked with an auto brake system, this is an easy change.

There are a couple of items to watch for. First, you must be able to seperate the old drums from the hub. Second, you may have to put longer studs in the hub (especially the idler hubs assuming you want 4 wheel disk) to compensate for the thickness of the new rotors.

Depending on the condition of your old hubs, you may want to consider getting new hubs and then using the removable rotors.
