Hi Guys Has anyone had experience in adjusting the brakes on the FW single axle trailer with drum brakes? The outfit is around 2 years old and if it requires adjusting, I figure now is about the time to do it Any advice, or warnings on what not to do would be apreciated. thanks in advance |

Hi When you say adjust, do you want to bleed them?? Are they disk or drum brakes?? I would go to the makers web site of the actuator and download the user's manual. The below link is a has a few common ones. Just goto the one thats yours (if it is there) and there will be a link to the manual. http://www.easternmarine.com/Hydraulic- ... Actuators/ |

G'Day Ardy, Check this video out... http://www.etrailer.com/tv-FAQ-Changing-Brakes.aspx This site has some great maintenance videos and also a great source of spare parts for your FW trailer. There is also a trailer brake place in Queensland who have a lot of parts for US sourced trailers such as disc rotors etc. at reasonable prices. Basically to adjust the brakes, you tighten them up until you can't turn the hub by hand, then you back the adjuster off until the brakes rub lightly. You can buy a fancy brake adjuster tool or just use a screwdriver. Not a difficult job either way. Cheers Alec |

Thanks Guys for the links. I have drum brakes on the trailer and from what I saw it is pretty much as I expected that I would need to do. The most awkward thing is the bleeding but even that is still quite do-able. thanks again |
