Wow  - is the hub and disc a single piece? If so, I'd say it's knackered (a technical term!).

Locally, maybe try http://www.titanbrakes.com.au or http://www.etrailerparts.com.au or http://www.melbournetrailers.com.au. This is a Kodiak disc, so Titan would be my first call.

If this fails, then either Champion Traliers in the US http://www.championtrailers.com/or eTralier http://www.etrailer.com/. Dealt with both, and both are great. The problem will be the freight cost from the USA - probably around $60-80 is my guess for a disc and hub. You may want to get new bearings and seals for all wheels while you are at it as they won't add to the freight cost. My bearings and seals were odd sizes that were hard to get in Oz but off the shelf in the USA and really cheap by comparison. You definately want to go over all 4 wheels, clean and repack the bearings as a minimum - preferably new bearings and seals. Bearings and seals should set you back around US$60 for all 4 wheels - may want to get a spare set and round it out to $75..!!

It's a little hard to tell from the one picture, but it sounds like a complete bearing failure. Like Alec, I'd do a complete bearing replacement on all wheels, including all races and seals.

i'm gonna need a new hub, bearings and the lubricating system
gearings are easily sourced here
but the rest might mean a trip to the fourwinss dealer for some daylight robbery

oh and the surface rust is just from being off the boat chucked under the trailer in the wet

It looks to me like the seal failed and water has been in there for a while judging by the color of the grease. I'd do all 4 at this point. I have the habit of taking off the grease caps and checking the color of the grease by pumping some more through 2x a year (I have the Tie Down spindle lube hubs were you can pump the grease in the zerk on the spindle and it goes thru the inner bearing first, then out the outer bearing) then you can see the color of the grease and judge if there is water getting in, before it causes total failure.

Titan don't have the rotor/hub assy??

If that's the case, go to Champion Trailers and get a hub/rotor and 4 sets of bearings. Man that bearing price is steep - from Champion it's around $18 for the full bearing kit. Just the savings on the bearings alone will more than cover the air freight costs. I buy from Champion and their service is great. Freight takes about 7 days to Oz.

For the hub, I would have probably run with the hub# 1455 from Champion. It runs $37.95 including bearings!
Or even better, from etrailer, a genuine Kodiak Hub - 5 on 4-1/2 for 10" Rotor Code: Q-HUB84545 Price:$32.95

Still, if you got the right one from FW, then $150 is not too bad ex Sydney.

Picked my hubs up at Northern Tool. They actually changed manufacturer's that supply them so I bought a spare pair for $21 on clearance. Keep them in the truck tool box.

as i put everything back together, i discovered on both sides a bolt missing that connect the brake piston to the mounting bracket. Both empty threads seemed a little rusted over suggesting it was not recent.

1. i cant imagine its meant to be this way.
2. i cant imagaine how i never noticed. surely it would have made some noise or affected stopping ? - the brackets do have some detents which "lock" it loosely in place though...
