I have an 2008 H200SS and need a new trailer. Does anyone have any suggestions on which type of trailer I should purchase?

Regarding brands, no.

If you do any salt water boating, get yourself a galvanized trailer.

Why do you need a new trailer for a 4 year old boat? Didn't it come with the matching FW trailer?

Whatever fits the boat and doesn't break the bank. I wouldn't get another painted steel one.

Ditto on not getting painted steel, makes no sense for a boat trailer. Load Rite/5 Starr and Venture make some nice low priced decent trailers. I have a Load Rite that is 18 years old used in salt and the galvanization on the frame has held up well. You can also go aluminum to save some weight. That boat might be able to go on a single axle if it's one with a 6000 axle, 6-lug hubs, 15" tires and 12" brakes.

I agree too, after all, salt or fresh you are dipping it in water. I painted trailer makes no sense to me. I have only owned Load Rite trailers, no real problems to mention. Normal stuff!

I have a Karavan trailer. I set it up myself and only had to pull the boat in/out of the water 2-3 times to get it sitting perfect. The factory bunks were not treated wood so I spent the $6 at home depot got treated two treated 2x6x8, peeled off the carpet of the factory bunks and stapled it to the treated wood and bolted everything back on.

I think the only mod I'll make to the trailer is I want those bolt on guides/bunks. The factory FW trailer has them and they make loading SOOOOOOOOOOO much easier.

I used to think FW trailers were great. The one I have now for my H200 is very very picky about ramp even-ness. If one wheel well is more than an inch different from the other on the ramp it is super easy to get a bad load (off by an inch or so) and then the boat will be sitting crooked on the trailer :-( What sucks is that it is hard to tell if its off before you pull it completely out and check it... Whats worse, is there is no way to adjust a factory trailer (at least that I know of)

The FW 180 I had never had this problem... it loaded perfect every time...

My suggestion is a galvanized double axel bank trailer…. 200 with 4.3 would be ok with single axle trailer but double axel would be much better for your application. Loadmaster, Shorelandr and Sea Lion are typical boat trailer manufacture in good price range… If you are looking for something custom like wake board boat trailer Manufacture like Boatmate trailer who can build the way you like including “Painted” Galvanized (using epoxy primer) trailer……They have template for many boat model and be able to build a trailer exact match for your boat. We ordered a Boatmate Custom trailer for our new boat (yes they are marching color)

I need a new trailer as the one I have is rusted to pieces and is starting to fall apart. I used the boat for the first two years in Lakes and the past 2 year in salt. The trailer was cleaned with a pressure washer every time I pulled it out of the salt water.

The sad thing is I didn't have a painted trailer, I had one with the gator hide on it and it still rusted through, I knew it would over time but wasn't expecting it to happen this early.

Wow, that really isn't long. Is there an option to protect the trailer with some sort of oil spray or a wax spray the same way that cars are winterized?

+1 I love my loadrite trailer purchased it brand new last year the only problem I've had with it is the rear left light has a mind of it's own!!! It's either on or off and if it is off and you dunk the boat in water it turns on I can't figure it out. The disc brakes on the trailer are really well made and I lubricate the hubs as soon as she is parked after every trip! I really love that trailer!
