I am tired of my belt driven water pump/impeller breaking on me. I was wondering if anyone has swapped in an electric pump to replace the stock one, could this even be done? If so what was the outcome? I would think as long as it flows the max GPH all the time then it would be able to cool the engine well.. Thanks |

the belt always either slips off or wears down irregularly because the mount is a little bent. im afraid of bending it back b/c it may break as well. |

I'm not thinking an electric pump would work. They are more circulating pumps like they use on high performance cars. You would need a large one to accomplish what you need and I'm sure it would be expensive to buy and adapt. May be better the get e replacement mount. |

If you can get the steel bracket off and hold it in a vise, you should be able to straighten it with a large adjustable wrench or similar. Highly unlikely that you would break it. Mild-Steel can bend back and fourth a number of times without breaking. However, if you try to straighten it while on the engine, you might break the cast-iron boss that it is attached to. |

Why is this even a post? Buy a new bracket. Fixed. |
