| Post subject: | 87 241 liberator steering cable |
As the title says, I am pretty sure I have a fray somewhere in my steering cable in my 87 libby. I had the local marine mechanic do the winterization on it as I just don't have the time with work right now. They confirmed my hunch and said it would be around $500 to replace the cable. Does this sound like a fair price? Is it something that I could do myself? I didn't think it would be anything too complicated just some weird angling and stretching possibly to get the cable where it goes. Please let me know if I am off base and should just pony up the money to the repair shop and save myself the headache. |

Price out the cable and you will know what they are charging for install. Lots of room on a Lib to work, I can't see the job being that difficult. |
