does anyone have a diagram to show me the function of the tstat housing? as in flow of water with tstat closed, open, etc. and show me the different outlets so I can troubleshoot if mine is really letting water around the tstat

Yes I'm bringing up an old thread but it's still a valid issue on my rig. Since I last posted I ordered a new-to-me tstat housing from ebay which is in better shape then mine, I believe deterioration in my housing is allowing water around the tstat. Also since I last posted, I've become a powdercoater! I think I'll strip all the rust off this new housing by chemically soaking it, then I'll powdercoat the inside to see if that will mitigate rust.

My 5.7 runs cold too. At idle it will get up to 160 and stay there (t-stat opens) but as soon as I'm underway it drops to 110-120.

Replaced and verified t-stat at 160, replaced temp sender, checked all hoses for blockages, checked riser temps with infra red thermo, etc.
