got on the water yesterday, at full throttle, the temp finally hit 120, I believe water is bypassing the tstat |

does anyone have a diagram to show me the function of the tstat housing? as in flow of water with tstat closed, open, etc. and show me the different outlets so I can troubleshoot if mine is really letting water around the tstat |

Yes I'm bringing up an old thread but it's still a valid issue on my rig. Since I last posted I ordered a new-to-me tstat housing from ebay which is in better shape then mine, I believe deterioration in my housing is allowing water around the tstat. Also since I last posted, I've become a powdercoater! I think I'll strip all the rust off this new housing by chemically soaking it, then I'll powdercoat the inside to see if that will mitigate rust. |

My 5.7 runs cold too. At idle it will get up to 160 and stay there (t-stat opens) but as soon as I'm underway it drops to 110-120. Replaced and verified t-stat at 160, replaced temp sender, checked all hoses for blockages, checked riser temps with infra red thermo, etc. |
