Hopefully someone can help me with my problem. The problem occurs when the engine is warm and running, no problem in the start up, I can run all day with no problem but when I return to neutral it will stall. I already Replace the spark plugs, fuel filter & clean the carb. but yesterday after 2 hours cruising I was arriving to the dock and it happen again is like the engine get overflow, I try to rev up but nothing. Any suggestions? Thank you |

right after you shift into neutral from being in gear this happens? if so then a likely cause is the shift module. |

Yes just as I shift to neutral, it is running really smooth even at idle speeds (no wake zones) |

I would bet on the shift assist module, part number 987740. |

What year Cobra is this? If it is the original OMC designed ones (86-93) then a sticky transom shift cable can cause the ESA to engage when it's not supposed to. You want to make sure the cable adjustment is correct, it is very important to the operation of the drive system. |
